Leaves the Stone on the Tree
This direct color photograph print shows one of Mr. Burbank's new productions, a canning cherry which, when picked, leaves the pit on the tree. The saving in not having to pit the cherries at the canning factory although, at first apparantly trifling, is, in the aggregate, larger than would be supposed; particularly in view of the fact that the canning seasons are so short that much fruit spoils through handling and through the delay which handling necessitates.
