The Geranium Ready to Give Pollen

This direct color photograph print shows the stamens of a geranium, greatly enlarged, as they cluster around the pistil at the time their pollen is ready for the entering insect. Each of the five stamens bears an anther, or pollen sac, which, as will be seen, bursts open and turns inside out when the pollen is ready.
