Blossom of the Bottle-Brush
A glance shows why this plant has received its popular name. The technical name of the shrub is Callistemon, from a Greek derivative, implying "the flower with beautiful stamens." There are several species of the genous, most of them having flowers with stamens of a beautiful scarlet color. The one here shown is a selected variety of Callistemon lanceolatus.
