The Scotch Broom

This is a plant known to the botanist as Cytisus scoparius. The specimen here shown belongs to the variety known as andreanus, and has been described by some botanists as Cenista andreana. The plant has become fairly popular in America, and it is a hardy and thrifty shrub, to be recommended for covering barren and exposed surfaces. Mr. Burbank has improved the variety by selective breeding.
