Japanese Magnolias

The magnolias have distinction among ornamental shrubs because of their large and beautiful flowers, supplementing their attractive foliage. There is good opportunity for hybridizing experimants, utilizing the species from various parts of the world. Here is a Japanese variety that will be used in such experiments, by combining its strains with those of the familiar American species.
