Tomato-Potato Graft

The grafting of potato tops on tomato roots and of tomato tops on potato roots have constituted some of the most interesting of Mr. Burbank's grafting experiments. The manner of grafting is not altogether unlike that employed in the case of trees, but the experiment has peculiar interest because Mr. Burbank has been able to unite the stems of these plants, but has not been able to cross-pollinate them successfully.
