Germinating Seeds in Damp Cloth

Seeds of various kinds, arranged in loose rows as here shown, may be rolled in damp cloth and thus germinated preparatory to planting. This is one of the numerous shortcuts that Mr. Burbank practices. The method is sometimes used merely to test the viability of seeds from different lots.
