Seed-Bearing Pumpkin Blossom
This blossom is the mate of the one shown previously. The stigma to receive the pollen occupies the same position that is occupied by the pollen-bearer in the other flower. The bulbous growth at the base of the flower is the ovary, or seed case, which, if the flower is fertilized, will develop into a pumpkin.
