A Patrician Pear

This seedling pear has qualities of form that entitle it to a special consideration. It has also good qualities of flesh, but, as will be seen, it is quite lacking in richness of color, except just about the stem, where there is a splash of red that suggests submerged hereditary color factors that might be brought to the surface by selective breeding.
