Some That Have Proved Worthy
Here are cherries that have proved themselves of superior quality, yet which have not been named, and which perhaps will never be introduced. They have admirable flavor, but they lack something of the aboundant production that characterizes other of the cherries shown in earlier pictures. This fault will probably be remedied in their descendants, and these cherries will be represented in their progeny. The story of the combination of qualities of different parent forms to produce the ideal cherry is told in detail in the text.
