This is the plumcot named the Bearer. At first view the fruit gives the impression of a Japanese-American hybrid plum, but the short, thick wood, the prominent buds, peculiar bark, and especially the fuzz indicate apricot parentage. The apricot characters are prominent in the tree; but the fruit is, on the whole, distinctly plum-like in appearance.
