It is almost superfluous to say that Mr. Burbank has not neglected so popular a garden vegetable as the asparagus. In point of fact, this plant, like practically all the other garden favorites, has come under Mr. Burbank's guidance, and has shown marked improvement through selective breeding. The picture suggests the quality of this improved Burbank variety. The stalks here shown are as succulent and savory and tender as they look.
