A Bed of True Amaryllis
This is the Amaryllis belladona; a true amaryllis, therefore, unlike most of the plants that go by that name in the catalogs of the horticulturist. The amaryllis of the gardener is usually a plant of the genus Hippeastrum; but the name amaryllis has been so generally given to the plants of this genus that it would be useless to attempt to change the nomenclature.
