Bulb-Planting Time at Santa Rosa
Note the straight sharp-edged furrow, made with the aid of a plank. All bulbs are planted in this way at Santa Rosa, as Mr. Burbank could not bear to see his garden pets put out in a hap-hazard or unsymmetrical manner. Part of Mr. Burbank's success must be ascribed to the meticulous care with which he supervises all details of the work of plant culture.
