The Burbank Rose
This picture reproduces a direct color photograph from an oil painting. It represents the celebrated Burbank rose with the utmost fidelity. This is the rose that secure a gold medal at the St. Louis International Exposition in 1904, as the best bedding rose. It furnishes a striking illustration of the fact that Mr. Burbank's efforts at plant development are as successful in the case of the commonly cultivated flowers as with the rare ones.
